Are you going into business blindly?
I talk to a lot of people and they all get into business for themselves for the same reasons. They want the freedom. The autonomy. The control. And of course, the money.
But (and it’s a big “but”) — in the pursuit of all those things, they often LOSE what they’re pursuing.
They want freedom? The business eats up all their time.
They want autonomy? Not when they can’t afford to lose a client.
The control? Not if there’s no predictable lead flow.
I see these problems a lot.
And so the question I always have is, “What are you optimizing for?”
You are going to get what you optimize for.
