Have you ever thought about what makes a prospect buy?
The prospect buys because they believe working with you is going to help them meet some kind of future state.
They think to themselves:
“I’ll buy it because I believe if I work with this person, we are going to achieve some future state together…
…and my likelihood of achieving this goal is higher if I have this expert in the room working with me.”
And the same is true for you.
You have to sell yourself on buying a product or buying into a new opportunity.
Because every time you get outside your comfort zone…
Outside a new market, a new offer…
It’s important to first sell yourself in that direction… especially since it goes beyond your bread & butter.
Because if you’re doing something you’re used to, then you know how much you’ll get in return for your time & effort.
Yet if you’re doing something new…
Then there’s a “?” around your ROI. It could be 5x or 10x, but we don’t know.
And because of this uncertainty, it’s often hard to commit your time & energy.
That’s why you have to sell yourself in the future state of the new direction.
And once you do this, it will become easier to put your time & effort into your new endeavors.
