I think all of us, at some point, have our “Doctor Strange” moment.
If you’ll forgive the dip into pop culture…
In the Marvel movie Dr. Strange, there’s a turning point where the Sorcerer Supreme tells the arrogant, self-centered Doctor Steven Strange:
“It’s not about YOU.”
And if we go past the surface level, I think there’s a lot of value there.
I used to think it was about ME.
I was going to go solo. Small business, small responsibilities.
Just me handling everything.
But then I started seeing the results my clients were getting. And I started to see the impact that we were having. At that point it became really, really clear:
To stay where I was… even though I was comfortable… would be SELFISH.
Building a team, systems, and processes were the ONLY way I could serve more and more clients.
So I went out of my comfort zone and started scaling.
Now I have an awesome team, both in-house and remote.
Could I have just stayed where I was?
Sure.
But it’s not about me.
