Whale ? clients could be destroying your business…
Here’s what I mean:
When you have 1 or 2 whale clients who pay all your bills… and make up a chunk of your revenue…
They usually can tell they are the only clients you got.
So they exert control over you…
And this typically tips the Power Balance in their favor where you get the short end of the stick…
Because now you go out of your way to over-serve… to make sure the client is always happy.
Worse yet – now you don’t trust your judgment so you don’t do what you think is right…
And because you’re afraid of losing the deal, you do what the client thinks is right. (Even though you know it’s not).
This is really the hard cost of working only with whale clients…
And at the end of the day, because you’re not using your better judgment & afraid of losing the deal…
You’ll make all sorts of terrible decisions which will put you in a much bigger hole.
