When you don’t have a strategy, everything sounds like a good idea.
There was a time when I’d jump on every shiny object I could find.
“Oh, that sounds interesting.”
“Well I really should try this.”
“If so and so is doing it, shouldn’t I?”
Pretty soon I was doing 10 different things to market my business, and none of them were working particularly well.
If you’re nodding your head in agreement — then you, my friend, need to get yourself a strategy.
A well thought out strategy becomes the filter through which you assess new ideas.
So when you come across another shiny object, the question becomes:
“Does this help my strategy? Or is this a giant distraction?”
