“You just need to figure out LinkedIn and your business will go through the roof.”
“Oh you couldn’t make it work on Facebook? Don’t worry LinkedIn is a blue ocean!”
“There are literally people waiting to throw money at you on LinkedIn.”
^^^ These are actual statements I’ve heard from self proclaimed “LinkedIn gurus”
They make it seem as though LinkedIn is some kind of business Panacea.
No matter what your business problem is, LinkedIn is THE solution… apparently.
It reminds me of the expression, “when all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.”
Let me be the first to tell you…
LinkedIn will NOT solve all your business problems.
In fact, it’ll do the exact opposite if the foundations of your business aren’t strong.
If your target market isn’t dialled in, you will fail on LinkedIn.
If your message isn’t compelling, you will fail on LinkedIn.
If you’re not differentiated in your market, you will fail on LinkedIn.
There are LOTS of ways to fail on LinkedIn.
Some of them have to do with how you use the platform.
Most of them have nothing to do with the platform and everything to do with your business strategy.
This is unpopular advice.
But someone’s gotta say it.
